What to bring to your free 30-minute consultation

Most people over-prepare for a first meeting with an accountant, or put it off because they think they need everything in order first. Neither is necessary. The goal of the free consultation is simple: understand your situation well enough to tell you what you need, what you do not, and what it will cost.

Bring these if you have them

• Last year's tax return. It shows us your filing status, income sources, states and any carryovers in one place.
• A rough picture of this year. New job, new business, a move, a property bought or sold, a gift from family abroad. A sentence each is enough.
• Any letter from the IRS or a state. Bring the whole letter, including the page with the notice number and the response deadline.
• For a business: the last financial statements you have. Even if you suspect they are wrong. Wrong statements tell us a lot.

You do not need

• Receipts, bank statements or spreadsheets. Those come later, through the portal, once we agree on scope.
• A decision about which service you want. That is what the conversation is for.

What happens in the thirty minutes

We listen first. Then we tell you plainly which filings apply to you, which deadlines matter, and whether anything from prior years should be corrected. If you want a quote, you will have it in writing within one business day.

After the call

If you decide to work with us, we open your secure portal account and send a checklist tailored to what we discussed. Nothing travels by email, and you can upload documents from your phone.
