Quarterly Estimated Tax
Self-employed people, landlords, investors and corporations pay tax four times a year. We calculate the amounts, use the safe-harbor rules and remind you before each due date.
What is included
- Federal and state estimated payment calculations
- Safe-harbor planning to avoid underpayment penalties
- Reminders before each due date
- Mid-year updates when income changes
- Payment set-up through IRS Direct Pay or EFTPS
Due dates for individuals
April 15, June 15, September 15 and January 15 of the next year. Paying at least 100% of last year’s tax (110% at higher incomes) through withholding and estimates generally avoids the penalty.
Common questions
Can my employer withholding count?
Yes. Raising withholding on a W-2 job is often the simplest way to cover side-business income.
